Christmas appeal for the hospital written by Edwin Paxton Hood. Appeal takes the form of a narrative about several visits to the "palatial" hospital. Edwin Paxton Hood was asked by the Secretary, Mr Andrew, to give a lecture at the hospital and subsequently paid other visits where he was able to have more personal talks with the patients. Includes illustrations of patients and a fold-out engraving of the hospital building. Also includes an inserted letter from the Matron, Lucy Begg, dated 23th November 1914, stating how glad she is to have been able to find a copy of this appeal.
