File includes correspondence between the hospital and representatives of the Privy Purse, HRH Prince Charles, and members of the public regarding changing the name; an annotated list of alternative names drawn up; report on the case for changing the charity's name; notes from a meeting with J Walter Thompson, the marketing and communications firm, regarding name change, 1987. File also includes a letter from HRH Prince Charles congratulating the Development Trust for the Young Disabled new appeal for a 45 bed unit in November 1986.

Volumes contains the following information on applicants: name; age; residence; medical condition; occupation; name of member of House Committee who visited them; the committee's decision and remarks. The first volume dates from 1936-1962, with the following volume covering 1962 to 1993 and the third being 1993 to 1998.
