Bound volumes containing reports produced by the authorised visitor's committee. The reports relate to the condition of the hospital and general services in the hospital, along with the occasional comment from patients. The visits happened irregularly initially over the course of the year, with the reports being a few comments but developed into a more thorough analysis of the services in the hospital. The reports are a mixture of handwritten reports and typed, stuck-in, reports from 1938 onwards. Each report is signed by the visitor.
Meeting minutes of the hospital board of management dating from January 1939 to 31 May 1954. The volume is indexed and includes typescript annotated inserts of the members of the board and the dates of when they joined. Later annotations refer to the addition of new board members and removal of members no longer serving. The volume contains various typescript inserts including documents relating to the proposal to join the National Health Service and the Hospital's legal case against joining, 1946-1950; reports from sub-committees relating to staff salaries and re-organising the governance structure of the hospital.
Register of complaints received regarding staff at the hospital, arranged chronologically. The register has an index and also includes loose staff employment slips. The register contains the name of the staff member, position, address, date of commencement and leaving date and reason and comments regarding the complaints. File includes printed filled in employment forms for domestic staff and a typescript letter regarding the salary rate for male attendants written by R M Villiers, Secretary to the Hospital, dated 29 January 1954.
