Oral history interviews on the impact of Covid-19 pandemic on the hospital. The interviews were conducted as part of the National Lottery Heritage Project, Preserving and sharing the historic archives of the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability that ran at the hospital from December 2019 to November 2021. The interviews were conducted remotely due to Covid-19 social distancing regulations at the hospital and were conducted by Chris Olver, RHN Archivist, and staff members at the hospital.
This series contains photographic images, negatives and mounted slides. Photographic material, c.1906-present, contain images of the building and grounds, staff and patients, publicity images of services, events and VIP visits.
Various sized photographs of the hospital building and grounds, including early picture postcards of the interior and exterior of the hospital, c.1908-1930; aerial photographs of the hospital, c. 1946-1960; photographs of construction of Chatsworth Wing, 1974, and later Draper's Wing, 1983-1990.
Black and white picture postcards showing interior and exterior shots of the hospital building and grounds, these include: images of communal areas inside the hospital including the library, De lancey lowe room, assembly room, reception hall and staff standing outside of the gate house (c. 1908). Some of the postcards have been used and are addressed to people living at the hospital.
The picture postcards were produced by several different postcard producers including Marshall, Keene & Co, Hove Sussex.
Photographic album of images of the hospital, taken between 1946-1950, presented as a gift to former secretary, J G Pitcher (1946-1951). Album includes a typescript note, dated December 1951 from [Committee board] to J G Pilcher regarding the gift of the album. The letter is signed by 31 signatories.
Album includes black and white photographs of the exterior building of the hospital, including an aerial photograph, along with images of staff and patients including a garden fete in the hospital gardens.
Black and white photographs with captions of tree removal from the grounds of the hospital. The photographs document the different stages of the tree removal from the site and seem to be part of the Wandsworth Council scheme for a new housing development on land near Beaumont Road, which was purchased by the council in 1962. Photographs show chopping down of the trees and images of the landscape.

Colour photographs and negatives of building work of new rehabilitation wing and transitional living unit on the hospital site, c.1983-1990. File includes early images of hydrotherapy pool and gymnasium.
Mixed photographs and negatives of images of various events and visits to the hospital. These include Royal visits, such as Queen Elizabeth II visit to open the Chatsworth Wing in 1976; galas and musical performances and other fundraising events and annual activities at the hospital including the Founder's Day staff awards, garden fete and sport's day.
Mixed photographs prints and negatives of various services and therapies, including examples of assistive technology created for patients in the Biomedical Department, 1980s; religious service at the hospital and occupational therapy session activities, such as basket weaving.
Coloured magic lantern slides of the hospital and its grounds, including views of main building, out-houses and interiors. The images are a mixture of coloured illustrations depicting daily life in the hospital and early hand painted photographs.
The slides were created by "E G Woods, 1-2 Queen Street, Cheapside, London". A typescript index of the slides is included within the box.
Various publications produced by the hospital and collected publications relating to the history of the hospital and works of literature previously part of the patient's library. Publications produced by the hospital include internal magazines, newsletters and brochures and leaflets relating to hospital services for patients and their families.
Published copies of the Royal Charter of incorporation with by-laws, granted on 20 June 1919. The later publication includes amended version of the charter.
Handbooks, leaflets, brochures chiefly relating to rules for hospital employees and patients. These include: the 1938 and 1944 editions of the handbook for rules, including salary information for all staff in the latter; a list of rules for patients mounted on card, 1926; patient's handbook, c.1985; patient's handbook, c.1995 and a patient welcome pack, c. 2009.
